Wigs & Hair Toppers in London

Whether you are preparing for chemotherapy, living with alopecia or noticing your hair thinning, finding the right wig starts with the right advice. I am a specialist wig consultant working from a private studio at Selfridges, London, within the Daniel Galvin Salon. I recommend what genuinely suits you and your budget, not the most expensive option in the room, so you leave with hair that looks natural and feels like your own.

Ready to Wear Wigs

Ready to wear wigs are the quickest route to a natural look. Choose from a curated range of synthetic and human hair styles, many in stock to take home on the day. I adjust the fit, refine the colour match and cut the style to frame your face, so an off-the-shelf wig doesn’t look like one.

Bespoke Wigs in London

Bespoke wigs are designed and made to measure for you. I specify every detail, from hair type and density to colour blend, hairline and cap construction, after an in-depth consultation. The result is a wig built around your head shape, lifestyle and the way you want to look.

Chemotherapy Wigs

Chemotherapy wigs are fitted with comfort and sensitivity in mind. Macmillan Cancer Support advises getting a wig before treatment starts, which is why many clients come to me for wigs in London ahead of their first session, so a style and colour close to their own hair is ready when they need it. I take time to explain your options calmly and clearly, in a private setting, at a pace that works for you.

Hair Toppers in London

Hair toppers add volume and coverage where hair is thinning, typically at the crown or parting, while blending with your own hair. They clip in and out easily at home. Choose from ready-to-wear toppers in a wide range of lengths and colours, or I can design one to match your hair exactly.

Where can I buy wigs and hair toppers in London?

Gary Price Wigs supplies and fits wigs and hair toppers from a private room on the third floor of Selfridges, Oxford Street, inside the Daniel Galvin Salon. I offer ready to wear wigs, bespoke wigs, chemotherapy wigs and hair toppers, and every appointment is a private one to one consultation.

Can I buy a wig in London on the same day?

Gary Price Wigs supplies and fits wigs and hair toppers from a private room on the third floor of Selfridges, Oxford Street, inside the Daniel Galvin Salon. I offer ready to wear wigs, bespoke wigs, chemotherapy wigs and hair toppers, and every appointment is a private one to one consultation.

What is the difference between a ready to wear wig and a bespoke wig?

A ready to wear wig is chosen from my stock and can be fitted and styled on the day. A bespoke wig is made to measure from a mould of your head, with the hair type, colour, density and hairline chosen for you. It is hand knotted and takes three to four months to make. Both styles can be made of human or synthetic hair.

Should I choose a human hair or synthetic wig?

Human hair wigs look and feel like your own hair, can be blow dried and restyled, and last longer with good care. Synthetic wigs are easier to look after and hold their style after washing, but usually need replacing after about six months. I will help you choose the right option for your lifestyle and budget.

What is a hair topper and who is it for?

A hair topper is a smaller hairpiece that adds volume and coverage where hair is thinning or missing, usually at the crown or parting, while your own hair stays visible. Toppers suit women with female pattern thinning, alopecia, hormonal hair loss and thinning after medical treatment. They can also cover patches of hair loss caused by burns, scarring or other trauma to the scalp. They clip into your own hair, and medical tape can be used where hair is too sparse for clips.

Do you offer wigs for chemotherapy patients in London?

Yes. I fit ready to wear and bespoke wigs and hair pieces for all types of alopecia, including alopecia areata, alopecia totalis and frontal fibrosing alopecia. At your consultation I will look at your hair loss and recommend the option that suits you best, whether that is a full wig or a hair piece. Wigs needed because of alopecia are exempt from VAT (20%).

Can I get a wig for alopecia in London?

Yes. Many of my clients come to me before their first chemotherapy session, so a wig close to their own hair colour and style is ready when they need it. Macmillan Cancer Support also recommends getting a wig before treatment starts. Consultations are private and unhurried.

Are wigs VAT free if I need one for medical reasons?

Yes. Wigs needed because of medical hair loss, such as chemotherapy or alopecia, are exempt from VAT (20%). I can explain how this works at your consultation.

How much does a wig cost?

The cost depends on the hair type, the cap construction and whether the wig is ready to wear or bespoke. I offer wigs at a range of price points and will always recommend what is right for you and your budget, not the most expensive option.
